Hi guys!! This post is dedicated to a product that is simple, yet important that can make your eyes stand out! Yes, Im talking about mascara! For myself, mascara is super important! First off, I am not a fan of false eye lashes as they seem too false. Mascara, on the other hand naturally emphasizes the eyes while reducing the appearance of under eye bags.
As with all beauty products, there is great competition, meaning lots of different products at reasonable prices. In fact, there are so many options that shopping for mascara can often make your head spin (information overload to the maximum)! This post will hopefully make choosing a quality product easier. While almost any product can get the job done, there are some that are much better than others. And if we are all trying to look the best we can, it is important we find these products.
Growing up, I wore Telescopic by Loreal. I absolutely loved it. While many of todays products can make you look like Barbie. Telescopic really shines for those that are going for a more natural look. With this mascara, one or two coats will give you a natural look. Its effortless! If you would like to add more emphasis to the eyes, you can absolutely apply extra coats to get a full long lashes that will turn heads. The best thing about this mascara is that you can buy it for less than $10 (in most places). I also recommend Mega Plush by Maybelline. While I havent used it myself, my friends swear by it. They say that it helps hold the curl to your lashes even if you dont use an eyelash curler. The drawback and the reason I havent tried it is that its gel consistency is a bit visible on the lashes. You have to be really careful not to apply too much or else your lashes will look rough. So if you have thin lashes or you are okay with only applying one or two coats, this product may be for you. It is also priced under $10 in most stores.
A good mascara that I have used for a while is Theyre real mascara by Benefit. If you are looking for a more upscale product, check out Theyre Real by Benefit. Many beauty bloggers give it positive reviews and, personally, I can vouch that it does the job. But, something tells me that it is more so due to the shape of the brush, which is designed to hit the inner part of your lash. The one thing that I dont like about this product is that it leaves your lashes dry and hard looking if you apply multiple coats. Also, the mascara itself tends to dry if you leave the bottle open while applying. Since it isnt sold in drugstores, it will cost you a little more than the average product and can be found at Sephora, Ulta or Macys.
I saved the best for last. But it is also the most expensive. Im talking about Grandiose by Lancome. I first heard about Grandiose after I asked a friend how her lashes were so long. At first, I was almost sure she was wearing falsies! So I decided to go and check it out. I immediately fell in love! This mascara really holds the throne. The unique shape of brush it has allows it to reach every single lash, from the inside to outside, if you press a little on your lashes with the brush it creates a nice full curl that lasts long. No curler necessary. What I really like about it is the fact that it doesnt leave your lashes hard, even if I apply multiple coats. Its also easy to remove. Although its expensive, one bottle can last you 8-10 months. Definitely worth it if you ask me. You can find it at Sephora or Ulta for around $30.00.
While I dont always use it, a good waterproof mascara can really save the day. My go to product is Lash Architect by L`oreal. This one comes in a blue tube, and is really good at holding up the curl. After all, it was made to keep your lashes in the place even when they get wet. You can wear this mascara to the beach, to the pool or on a very hot summer day without worrying about it running. With these extra benefits come the costs, and in this case, the cost is that it takes forever to remove it.
Whichever product you choose, with enough experience, you can obtain any look. Just get to know your product.
